PrintProspective Undergraduate Students - NAU Forestry
Welcome to the Northern Arizona University School of Forestry!

We offer a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry that is nationally accredited. Our program provides the technical training needed to secure an entry-level position in forestry, natural resource management, or other environmental fields.

Some key points about our program include:

  • An interdisciplinary approach to preparing our students to become competent foresters and land stewards.

  • The opportunity to choose from one of nine focus areas, which allows students to explore particular areas of interest.

  • The chance to participate in the management of our 47,500-acre school forest.

  • The opportunity to gain practical experience through a variety of summer positions in the Flagstaff area, throughout the West, or even further afield.

  • The opportunity to participate in the NAU student chapter of the Society of American Foresters and many other activities sponsored by the School of Forestry.

  • An approach that emphasizes a well-rounded education and citizenship, in addition to technical skills.
