The most complete repository of information regarding
graduate work at the NAU School of Forestry is our "Graduate Handbook". Here you
will find detailed information about the our three graduate degrees,
admission requirements, course requirements, thesis/dissertation requirements,
and all of the forms the School of Forestry will require of you as you complete
your work with us.
Graduate students are encouraged to join and participate in the Forestry Graduate Students Association (FGSA) . The FGSA sends a representative to all faculty meetings in the School of Forestry, as well as the Graduate Curriculum Committee. FGSA also holds at least one social event per year, and takes responsibility for running the Forestry Seminar Series.
Graduate students are also encouraged to join and participate in the activities of appropriate professional societies. The benefits of membership, including journals and newsletters, are generally available to students at very favorable rates for dues.
There are many informal opportunities to learn from fellow students with experience from other parts of the United States and the World. One can learn a great deal by helping others, sharing work efforts, and studying together. Cooperation and social interaction with fellow students are strongly encouraged.
