There are several ways for undergraduate students to be involved in research.
Many will work as undergraduate research assistants on faculty and
graduate-student led research, while others will lead their own independent
projects. Students interested in participating in research should discuss
research ideas with applicable professors, or contact Jennifer Tsonis (
Jennifer.Tsonis@nau.edu
) for assistance.
Recent research projects led by School
of Forestry undergraduates include:
Analysis of soils as agents of selection: Can feedback
from plants alter their own performance?
Does diversity of predator species change in response
to differences in diversity of prey species in restored forests?
Tree-Ring sensitivity along an elevational gradient;
What are the implications of drought sensitivity given predictions of climate
change in northern Mexico?
Dwarf mistletoe response to ecological restoration
treatments in ponderosa pine forests of northern Arizona.
