Emden, IL.  Multiple gables, irregular massing, ornamented porch, palladian and bay windows.  Notice early auto-era garage to the left.


Silverton, CO.  The most basic form of the Folk Victorian, with L-shaped massing and corner decorative porch.

Silverton, CO.  Zoom-in of the photo above.  Note the decorative (almost "fishscale") siding on the gable.  This is a sure sign that we've got a folk victorian house, or a Queen Anne house if it is more elaborate.
